tl;dr
As they state on their homepage, Layer3 aims to answer a very ambitious, but important, question:
You have a wallet. Now what?
They are effectively onboarding people into web3. So how do they do onboarding people onto their own platform?
What they do well:
They’ve created a system of quests and bounties to guide users and used gamification to keep users motivated.
They’ve layered in social proof throughout the product experience.
What could be improved:
Getting users to your “aha” moment so they know why your product is so valuable to them is crucial during onboarding. Layer3 has users spending a lot of time during onboarding on tasks that don’t quite do that.
Most of the time, Layer3 guides users through the entire onboarding process. But there are a few steps, where they leave users completely to their own devices. And that tends to happen when it’s least obvious what to do. During onboarding, make each step as clear as possible to the user.
